Charlestown Residents' Council
The Charlestown Residents' Council Meeting is on July 5, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Each month's minutes are posted two weeks after a meeting. Use the updated Council photo to identify Council members. A summary of the meeting, Voices of the Council, is shown on Channel 972 the Friday after the Council meeting during the news at 10, Noon, 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Watch the entire meeting on Channel 972 on the weekends at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Guidelines for Political Activities at Charlestown were developed by the Legislative and Political Committee and adopted by the Residents' Council. Since it is an election year, the Council thought they would be helpful.
The 2016 Residents' Council Candidates posters and information about the election will be available July 1, 2016. A packet with photos,100-word bios and information for voting locations and absentee ballots will go in your cubby. There will be 3-minutes videos on Channel 972 in July. The election of seven new council members is August 3. The annual Resident Association Meeting will be August 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center.
Residents are invited to attend any Council Committee meeting. Please call the chair to make sure there is room to attend. Committees meet on a regular schedule as posted.

Dial out on 8, not 9!
This change is for all on the phones on the CCI phone system including the courtesy phone at the lobby desks. Legislation called Kari's law requires multi-line telephone systems to be configured so that dialing 9-1-1 directly connects to public safety.
GS Town Hall Notice
Tony Kuzawinki, General Services Director, and the GS Management team will be holding a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium. This will be the first Town Hall meeting since Tony became the director.
Scholar Fund Success Continues
Tech Tutors is a resident volunteer program that provides one-on-one instruction for people needing help with their computer or tablet. A request form for the free service is available online for printing and also at the lobby desks. Basic information can be found in the group's Frequently Asked Questions document.
