Residents' Council Monthly Meeting

The next Charlestown Residents' Council Meeting is on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Each month's minutes are posted two weeks after a meeting. Use the updated Council photo to identify Council members. A summary of the meeting, Voices of the Council, is shown on Channel 972 the Friday after the Council meeting during the news at 10 a.m., Noon, 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Watch the entire meeting on Channel 972 on the weekends at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Council News

Wendel Thompson is appointed to replace Charlotte Chambers who resigned from the Council. He will serve as Assistant Chair to the Legislative/Political Committee. Gil Fisher will now chair the Finance Committee.

The Housekeeping Committee will meet on the 3rd Friday at 2 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. from now on and the Maintenance & Engineering Committee will meet at 2 p.m. instead of 1:00 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday.

Residents are invited to attend any Council committee meeting. Please call the chair to make sure there is room.

Pie Baking & Shelf Decorating Contests

Sign up by Nov. 1, 2016 to participate in the Charlestown Holiday Pie Baking (C-town Departments) and Shelf Decorating (residents) Contests. Event culminates in pie tasting and announcement of contest winners on Tues., Nov. 18 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. in the CTS Gallery. See details.

Staff Appreciation Fund 

 The yearly campaign started October 10, 2016, with a brochure and contribution envelope in your cubby. Watch the videos showing resident, Pat Kasuda, doing work of some of the hourly employees on Channel 972. The end date is November 23. The goal is 100% participation. Please give generously to show appreciation for our staff who are not allowed to accept tips. We were at 17% on October 20.

Vote early in Arbutus beginning Thurs., Oct. 27 and at the Conference Center on Tuesday, Nov. 8th.  See details.

Annual Resident Volunteer Census Due

It's time to complete your volunteer form. It was attached to the Superheros flyer that came in your cubby last week, both of which are also available online. The forms are needed before the Volunteer Pin distribution scheduled November 1 - 3, 2016. Print copies of the form are available from Kathleen Hart.
